Warehouse Supervisor

We are Bread SRSLY, makers of wildly nourishing, SERIOUSLY delicious, gluten-free and vegan sourdough bread in Berkeley, CA. Our mission is to reunite people with sourdough when they thought good bread was off the table. We bake thousands of loaves of bread each week and ship them all over the US to eager gluten-free eaters. The Warehouse Supervisor is our master of scheduling and interdependencies. From sending bread from point A to point B, to negotiating ingredient contracts, you help Bread SRSLY’s operations run smoothly. With your quick, clear communication, you are able to solve problems before they occur, keep your teammates on track to succeed in their daily roles, and provide the feedback needed to create a seamless customer experience. You nimbly switch between tasks while still achieving your to-dos on schedule, and you can create and maintain your own to-do lists and timelines. You help facilitate communication between the Office team and the Production teams by having a hand in each.

Our ideal candidate loves numbers, puzzles, details and deadlines. This salaried position pays $49,000 - $65,000 annually and reports to the Operations Manager. This position manages the Order Fulfillment team.

The Warehouse Supervisor will:

  • Schedule, supervise, hire, and train Order Fulfillment Associates.

  • Lead 1:1 check ins with direct report(s) weekly, and maintain excellent records. 

  • Host daily Fulfillment kickoff meetings, collect notes, and follow through on action items. 

  • Collaborate with staff to discover and implement new warehousing efficiencies. 

  • Oversee timely and accurate completion of daily/weekly Order Fulfillment documents. 

  • Author and train staff on SRSLY Sheets, standard operating procedures, and forms; revise as needed to reflect current warehouse processes. 

  • Represent the warehouse team at monthly Management Staff Meetings and Operations Team Meetings. 

  • Implement and continuously improve Inventory, Purchasing, Receiving, Logistics, and Order Fulfillment systems.

  • Create shipping labels, schedule and coordinate pickups, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments across multiple carriers.

  • Create, edit, print, and send invoices in Quickbook as needed.

  • Provide tracking information to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service as needed.

  • Use and improve the Orders Sheet, Dough Calculator, Box Label Program, and other tools.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, and assist with creating solutions.

  • Maintain adequate inventory of all supplies including monitoring, sourcing, purchasing, transferring, and receiving goods, and planning and negotiating contracts.

  • Move inventory between onsite and offsite facilities.

  • Predict, measure, track, and share information about supply chain and logistics key performance indicators. 

  • Collaborate on projects with Operations team and other coworkers as needed.

  • Join Office team meetings, Operations team meetings, and Production Planning meetings.

  • Assist Order Fulfillment daily and as needed, including coordinating leave coverage for Fulfillment staff.

  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through email.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • Fluency with Google Sheets or Excel, including basic functions

  • Comfort with numbers and arithmetic

  • Computer literacy

  • Prior logistics, warehousing, supply chain and/or administrative experience

  • Prior management or supervision experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lb
